Ortovox Free Ride 18 is the perfect backpack for day trips in powder. The 18 liters of space is enough for avalanche equipment, an extra layer of clothes and some snacks. On the outside of the bag there are carrying systems for skis, snowboard, ice axe, poles and helmet. It is also prepared for a hydration system, which is very useful if you are ski touring - the hydration system is not included. The ergonomically designed straps and sturdy back panel provide good weight distribution for good comfort and stability. Another novelty is a safety strap that goes around one leg, which keeps the backpack on the body in case of an accident.

The backpack is compatible with Ortovox's own Clasp back protector, so you have the opportunity to add even more safety to your backpack.

The backpack is equipped with the brand new electric AVABAG LiTRIC airbag system. It is super easy to use, just like the traditional AVABAG system. You have a trigger that you use when needed. What's new and clever about the LiTRIC system is that it uses a battery and an electric motor to blow air into the airbag. This means you don't have to buy gas cartridges every time it deploys. It can also withstand being deployed up to 50 times. The battery is made to withstand extreme temperature variations and is tested to work from -30 degrees to +45 degrees. When fully charged, the battery can last for 60 hours and you can always see the battery level on the side of the backpack via an LED display. When the battery is fully charged, it can provide at least two airbag deployments.
