Many people underestimate the sun on a ski holiday. UV radiation gets stronger the higher you go, and the snow reflects a large part of the light back at you, so you get sun from above and below. That's why you can easily get sunburnt on a cold, clear day in the mountains.
Choose a high factor for your face, and keep a sun stick or lip balm in your jacket pocket so you can top up at the lift. Combine it with sunglasses or ski goggles with UV protection, and cover your neck with a neck warmer on cold days.

Apply sun cream before you go out, and use plenty. Most people use less than the pack recommends and so get less protection than the factor promises.
