The Recon weighs just 1,774 grams, making it one of the lightest in its category. This is thanks to K2’sPowelite Shell technology, which is constructed from four different TPU materials: the strongest materials are used where there is the most pressure or greatest need for them, while thinner materials are used in areas where you want the boot to be more flexible. The engineers analyzed where the boot needed the most and least material, thereby eliminating excess weight. The ski boot is easy to slip into, thanks to a lightweight TPU material around the instep that provides an “Easy Entry” design, yet it still feels sturdy when you lean forward with your shin.

The boot has a host of features, including four sturdy buckles plus a 40-mm Velcro strap that ensures all your energy is transferred from your shin down into the ski. Last but not least, it comes with a LuxFit Liner (inner boot) that provides a tight fit. The boot will fit snugly and comfortably around your foot, giving you the best possible comfort and control. It also molds to the shape of your foot over time, so after just 2–3 days, you’ll notice increased comfort and an inner boot that fits your foot like a glove.

The boot features a GripWalk sole, which makes it easy to walk in because it allows for more flex under the sole than a standard ski boot, enabling you to walk more naturally. GripWalk also provides excellent traction, as the sole is coated with rubber, reducing the risk of slipping or falling.
