The back shield is comfortable, flexible and has a great fit. The shield is held in place by the adjustable shoulder straps and waist belt for maximum protection. Can be used when snowboarding, but is also approved as protection for motorcycle riding.

The D3O material's properties can be briefly explained as follows: When the material is inactive, it is soft and flexible, i.e. it can bend and adapt to the shape of the body, providing maximum comfort. When the material receives an impact, the material becomes rock hard and counteracts the impact you will receive from your crash or collision with obstacles.

D3O Shock Absorption System is a patented shock absorbing material based on an "intelligent" molecular structure. These molecules behave normally during normal movements and instantly lock together during shocks and impacts. D3O is motion-dependent. With slow changes, the molecules flow freely and the material remains soft and flexible. With a sudden shock or impact, the loose molecules lock together, dampening the force of the impact. The whole process happens extremely quickly. As soon as the shock is absorbed, the molecules return to their normal loose state again.

These properties make the material ideal for applications where optimal freedom of movement and shock absorption are required. D3O is an extremely discreet and lightweight material that can be integrated into the garment without compromising function and appearance.
